Interstate 95 southbound travelers will experience brief overnight delays this weekend at Exit 118/Thornburg in Spotsylvania County to allow crews to perform bridge maintenance to address concrete deterioration.
Motorists can expect I-95 southbound lanes to be closed overnight at the Route 606 (Mudd Tavern Road) interstate overpass at mile marker 118 at the following dates and times, weather permitting:
Friday, Oct. 27 – Saturday, Oct. 28
9 p.m. – Single lane closed
11 p.m. – Two lanes closed
6 a.m. – All lanes re-open
Saturday, Oct. 28 – Sunday, Oct. 29
9 p.m. – Single lane closed
11 p.m. – Two lanes closed
6 a.m. – All lanes re-open
Sunday, Oct. 29 – Monday, Oct. 30
9 p.m. – Single lane closed
5 a.m. – All lanes re-open
The Mudd Tavern Road overpass is being replaced as part of the Exit 118 interchange project, which is currently under construction.
This weekend’s work will address concrete deterioration as construction advances to build a new bridge. The new bridge is anticipated to open in late 2018.
