Drive-by shootings and separate shooting reported in Spotsylvania

On March 4, 2018 at approximately 11:15 PM, deputies responded to the 10800 block of Cedar Post Lane in reference to a reported drive by shooting. Deputies were quickly able to ascertain that there were no injuries reported during this incident. The only damage located was a hole in a garage door.

On March 5, 2018 at approximately 11:30 PM, deputies responded to the same residence for another reported drive by shooting. Deputies located a spent cartridge casing on the ground at the scene. There were no reported injuries or property damage during this incident. This is an active investigation into the nature of these incidents.

In a separate incident, on March 6, 2018 at approximately 11:00 AM, deputies responded to a residence in the 5300 block of GreenTree drive in reference to a reported shooting. It was discovered that a 54-year-old female was shot in the lower leg after an apparent attempted robbery. The victim was transported to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries. This is still an active investigation, and no arrests have been made at this time.
