Three Arrested Following Discovery of Remains in King George County

The Virginia State Police have arrested and charged two men and a woman in connection with the discovery of remains in King George County. Keelyn R. Codynah, 23, of Spotsylvania, Va., Robert P. Keating, 25, of Spotsylvania, Va., and David W. Newton, 20, of Fredericksburg, Va., have each been charged with one count of accessory to murder. All three are being held at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.

The human remains were discovered at different locations in the Fairview Beach community of King George County Saturday (July 21) and were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Richmond for examination, autopsy and positive identification. The remains and these arrests are being investigated in connection with the disappearance of Megan L. Metzger, 19, of Pamplin, Va.

The incident remains under investigation. Additional charges are pending consultation with the Spotsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney.
