From Soles4Souls

Six year-old Myla Wood of Fredericksburg has collected 100 pairs of shoes for Soles4Souls, a non-profit fighting global poverty. Soles4Souls helps create sustainable jobs in developing countries through a micro-enterprise program. Myla’s shoe donation will not only be diverted from landfills, but will go towards helping people in poverty through the program.

Myla also currently holds the title of USA National Miss Central Virginia and loves being onstage. Over past three years, Myla has volunteered with Generosity Feeds, Ronald McDonald House, Marine Corps Historic Half, the Walk for Mental Health Awareness, Autism Acceptance Walk, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, ChildSavers, the American Heart Association and many more.

Myla finds that she is at her best when she is giving, doing, and helping others. She is vastly aware of the world’s limited resources which must be used with care, and equally aware that the earth is precious and must be lived on respectfully. So, for Myla, Soles4Souls is greatly needed worldwide organization which promotes the cultural mantra of “reduce, reuse and recycle,” that she is happy to support.

Myla wears a crown and sash and stands in front of boxes. She holds a sign that says "Soles4Souls"
