Fredericksburg, VA — Imagine celebrating a delightful evening under the stars in the gardens of George Washington’s mother. Guests will enjoy live music, savory treats, and refreshing cocktails at Washington Heritage Museums’ fourth annual fundraiser, “Bourbon & Boxwood” at the Mary Washington House on September 22, 2018 from 7-10 p.m.

The event will celebrate the nonprofit’s four museums while raising funds for their care, preservation, and interpretation for future generations. The associated museums include the Mary Washington House, Rising Sun Tavern, Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop and St. James’ House.

Admission of $75 per person ($35 tax deductible) includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, an open bar with bourbon tastings and signature drinks, and a night of fun including live performances by The Harry Wilson Trio, Ask Fred, and Whiskey Django Foxtrot. Raffle tickets will be available for a beautiful painting of the Rising Sun Tavern and a variety of lovely prizes and experiences. Tickets will be sold in groups of five for $20. Guests can also try their luck in a “wine pull” by purchasing a $40 ticket that guarantees a prize of a bottle of wine valued at $20-$90.

Proceeds from the event will support the ongoing mission of Washington Heritage Museums.
