More Information

The City is beginning the process of creating a Small Area Plan for Area 7 (Downtown and the surrounding residential neighborhoods). The public is invited to join us as we kick off our effort September 11 at 7:30 pm at the Planters Bank Building, 1001 Princess Anne Street (the former Fredericksburg Area Museum). This meeting’s primary purpose will be to introduce the process and gather input from interested citizens and stakeholders toward creating a vision for the future of Downtown Fredericksburg and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Later this fall (October 8 – 12) the City will hold a five-day charrette in the Planters Bank Building at 1001 Princess Anne Street. A charrette is a focused workshop in which designers, property owners, public officials, citizens and other stakeholders work together to brainstorm and envision the future of a community through a variety of mapping and other visual exercises. Streetsense, the City’s land use planning consultant, will be on-site for the entire five days. The charrette will be open to the public whom are invited to visit, comment, and participate in the visioning process. More details will be made available as they are finalized.
