Rappahannock Adult Activities Fall Mum Sale

Fredericksburg, Virginia – An upcoming plant sale will benefit adults with developmental disabilities and their families. Rappahannock Adult Activities’ seventh annual Fall Plant Sale will feature chrysanthemums grown by the center’s participants.

Prices will range from $8 to $10. A wide variety of chrysanthemums will be available in pink, yellow, red, orange, purple and white. Customers may purchase mums Sept. 10 through Sept. 20, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 750 Kings Highway in Stafford County.

Flowers will also be for sale that week from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at:

  • Ron Rosner YMCA in Spotsylvania County on Mondays and Wednesdays
  • Massad YMCA in Stafford County on Tuesdays and Thursdays
  • Caroline Family YMCA on Friday

Proceeds from the sale will benefit RAAI’s day support program for adults with developmental disabilities. The program helps participants learn new skills, develop friendships and explore their community. Horticulture is one of many hobbies that individuals can pursue through the day support program.

RAAI is a community-based developmental day program that promotes dignity, independence, individualization, inclusion and productivity of people with developmental disabilities in their communities. For more than 40 years, RAAI day support services have helped to keep individuals out of institutional settings and allow caregivers respite from care responsibilities. The program currently serves more than 150 individuals at five locations in the City of Fredericksburg and the counties of Caroline, King George, Spotsylvania and Stafford.

RAAI is a program of Rappahannock Area Community Services Board and a partner agency of the Rappahannock United Way.
