King George Woman Killed in Three Vehicle Crash

KING GEORGE CO. Va., – (UPDATE) On September 17, 2018 (Monday) at approximately 6:46 p.m., the Virginia State Police responded to a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 205 (Ridge Road) at Route 301 (James Madison Parkway).

Further investigation by the trooper reveals that a 2017 Ford F450 (Ambulance), driven by, William V. Watson, 41, of Stafford was transporting a patient. Watson was traveling eastbound on Route 205 and proceeded through a red light into the intersection and struck a 1997 Nissan Quest, driven by, Margaretta Ann Davis, 64, of King George, Va. as she was traveling southbound on Route 301. Davis then struck a tree and Watson continued on striking a 2013 Volvo S80, driven by a male, 53, out of Maryland.

Watson and three additional passengers were transported to hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Davis and an adult male passenger were wearing their seat belts and were transported to the hospital for life threatening injuries. The driver of the Volvo was seat belted and did not sustain injury.

Unfortunately, Margaretta Ann Davis, 64, of King George, Va., was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The investigation is on-going to determine if the ambulance had it’s emergency equipment activated prior to the crash. The crash continues to be under investigation with the assistance of the Virginia State Police Crash Reconstruction Team.

Charges are pending per consultation with the Commonwealth Attorney’s office.
