October 1-31, Mary’s Ribbons
Each day in October at the Mary Washington House

Throughout the month of October, the community and visitors are invited to tie pink ribbons to the fence of the Mary Washington House in honor or memory of those who have battled breast cancer as Mary Washington did.  The program is presented in collaboration with the Imaging Center for Women, and ribbons are provided free of charge.  Visit the Mary Washington House during October to pick out your ribbon and tie it to the fence.

October 20, 2018 – A Toast to History
7pm – 9pm at the Rising Sun Tavern

Enjoy 18th century alcoholic beverages as they would have been served in times past.

The Rising Sun Tavern Museum will host a special night of tastings and conversation on 18th century beverages. Included will be various samples, light refreshments, and non-alcoholic 18th century drinks to partake in as well.

The tour and tasting will last approximately an hour with a concert by Colonial Faire to follow in the garden. This is a rare opportunity and this exclusive event is capped at 60 guests. We hope you’ll attend and bring your friends!

Tickets are $20 for members and $25 for the general public. For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, tickets are sold by timed entry. RSVPs are encouraged by purchasing tickets in advance on Facebook or by going to www.WashingtonHeritageMuseums.org/calendar. Members should call to receive their discount. All ticket sales will end on Friday, October 19th at noon and are non-refundable. If the event is not sold out, tickets will be available at the door for $30. For questions, please call the Rising Sun Tavern at 540-371-1494.
