November 1, 2018 – Speaker Series
10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Fredericksburg
Speaker: B.L. Trahos, Docent at Gunston Hall
Interpreting 18th Century Foodways: B. L. Trahos will talk about the development of Gunston Hall’s foodways program. The program, which began 30 years ago, used primary sources such as letters, diaries, advertisements, and the notes of Jefferson’s butler Etienne Lemaire to create food in a historic kitchen that would have been accurate and available in the 18th century.

November 23-24, 2018 – John Frazer Night
6 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. at the Rising Sun Tavern
Rising Sun Tavern Keeper John Frazier died on the property shortly after opening the business in the 1790’s – and some say he never left. Enjoy a “spirited” candlelight tour highlighting the life of John Frazer and his alleged afterlife pranks! Thanks to Culpeper Paranormal Investigations, there is new and exciting information to share with you!

4:30 p.m. – 7 p.m. at the Mary Washington House
Tour the Mary Washington House by candlelight in the spirit of an 18th century Christmas. Shop for unique gifts in the gift shop while sipping hot cider and sampling Mary Washington’s famous gingerbread. The gift shop will be hosting a sale with so many wonderful items to choose from you will be able to cross some holiday shopping off your list!
