Scouts collecting food this Saturday

by | Nov 9, 2018 | Around Town

In many neighborhoods around the area last Saturday, Boy Scout and Cub Scout troops put out notices and plastic bags for the annual Scouting for Food event.

This Saturday, Nov. 10, the Scouts will re-run those routes and collect food from people. The food should be out at the street or in front of houses by 8:30 for pickup.

Most troops ask for nonperishable food in non-glass containers. They will deliver the food to area churches with food banks or other food collection organizations.

If you didn’t have a notice or bag on your house last Saturday, it’s very possible that your neighborhood was not covered by a troop. If you’d like to donate, find a family with Scouts and deliver to them–they can get the food to a collection point.
