Clay Jones on Border Patrol

Donald Trump has now gassed women and children.

Sunday, as a group of migrants near the San Ysidro border crossing stormed a fence, Border Patrol agents launched tear gas into Mexico at the migrants. The fumes were carried by the wind to other migrants, some of whom were hundreds of feet away, who were not trying to enter the U.S.

Trump claimed that agents had used a “very minor form” of tear gas on the migrants. That claim was debunked by his very own commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Kevin McAleenan, who agreed with CNN’s Chris Cuomo’s assertion that there is only one kind of tear gas, its “standard law enforcement,” there is no “very minor form” and it’s all the same.”

There is no tear gas for children.

This is another example of not just how horrible Donald Trump is, but also his supporters. Instead of expressing concern or condemnation after seeing images of mothers dragging children in diapers away from tear gas, they applaud and cheer.

There are still people who do not want to see this nation become one that gasses children, or tears them from their parents and throws them in cages. We are the United States, the beacon of freedom, an example to the world, and a shining city on a hill.

The Statue of Liberty shines a light for the entire world to see. But right now, nobody can see it because it’s in a cloud of tear gas.
