Two charged in counterfeiting

The Fredericksburg Police Department arrested two suspects Wednesday, December 12th for passing counterfeit money at four City businesses located in the Cowan Crossing Strip Mall.
Last week on December 3rd at approximately 8:30 p.m., a male and a female (photos right) passed counterfeit bills at the Starbucks, Jersey Mike’s, Vocelli’s Pizza, and Chipotle Mexican Grill located in the Cowan Crossing strip mall. An Attempt-to-Identify flyer was sent to local law enforcement and the public through social media.
On Wednesday, December 12th at approximately 6:00p.m., the suspects entered the Starbucks again and attempted to purchase items with counterfeit money. An employee recognized the duo from the Attempt-to-Identify flyer and contacted police.
Babo Opeyemi Obaro, 24, of White Plains, Maryland was arrested on five charges of forging coin/banknotes, five charges of obtaining money by false pretenses, and a charge of possession of forged coin/banknotes.
Briana Renee Brown, 22, of Waldorf, Maryland was arrested on two charges on obtaining money by false pretenses and three charges of banknote/coin forgery.
The suspects have been charged by other local jurisdictions for the same types of crime.
Brown and Obaro are both incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.
