Interfaith groups holding prayer vigil for victims of New Zealand attacks

This Sunday Muslim and Interfaith communities will hold a Prayer Vigil at the Islamic Center of Fredericksburg to respond to the massacre in which about 50 Muslim worshipers were murdered in terrorist attacks in two mosques/masjid in Christchurch, New Zealand, during Friday prayer congregations.
At the Prayer Vigil, community leaders will share their words of support and address issues of unity and actions against racism and hatred. The vigil will end with the Muslim Absentees’ Prayer for the lives lost in this horrific human atrocity.

Earlier today, the Muslim communities in the Greater Fredericksburg condemned the apparent anti- Muslim and anti-immigrant hate that motivated this terrorist attacks and urged all worship places in the United States and worldwide to step up security measures.
Many statistics have reported an unprecedented spike in hate, bigotry, and violence targeting American Muslims, African-Americans, Jews, immigrants, and members of other minority groups in the last two years.
