Suspect arrested after breaking into Stafford school over spring break

by | Apr 18, 2019 | Police and Fire

A deputy responded to a reported vandalism at Ferry Farm Elementary School. An employee reported finding an office window broken and a classroom vandalized. Books were scattered throughout the classroom and a vase had been broken.

The deputy reviewed video footage of the suspect walking through a school hallway and entering a classroom. After about a minute, he reappeared and exited the building into a courtyard where there is no exit. He climbed onto the roof, causing damage to drain pipes, gutters, and a roof vent, and then jumped onto the school walkway. He left the area on a bicycle.

Deputies relayed the information and a photo of the suspect to the School Resource Officer. She recognized the suspect from a previous incident. 21 year old Jeremy Bushy of Fredericksburg admitted to the Ferry Farm incident, saying he was very intoxicated. He was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $2000 bond for breaking and entering with intent to commit a felony and destruction of property.
