Transmission line failure leads to early morning power outage

by | Apr 18, 2019 | Business

The failure occurred at a substation in Caroline County that directs electricity to 11 other REC substations serving members in six counties and the Town of Bowling Green. By 3:15 a.m., REC crews were able to redirect the flow of power from other locations to restore electricity. “REC crews responded immediately to search for the cause and to determine the best way to restore power as quickly and safely as we could,” said Maxie Rozell, manager of REC’s Eastern Region.

Members affected by last night’s outage may experience brief blinks today as repairs are completed and power flow is returned to normal.
