From the City of Fredericksburg

This year’s market features 29 vendors selling competitively-priced vegetables and fruits, cut flowers, herbs, houseplants, microgreens, eggs (quail, chicken, duck), beeswax soaps, honey, jams & preserves, pickles, coffee, salsa, macarons & baked goods, seafood, and also grassfed, antibiotic, hormone-free beef and pork. Located at the corner of Prince Edward Street and George Street, the market will be open from 7:00am – 2:00pm every Saturday from April 20 through October 26, 2019.

“Best Community Event” winner of 2018, the Fredericksburg Farmers Market celebrates community by hosting special events throughout the season, including: Kids’ Market, Farmers Market Week Celebration, Community Day, and Harvest Festival. Art in the Park, every 1st and 3rd Saturday, showcases talented local artists and crafters. By shopping from your neighbors at the Fredericksburg Farmers Market, you eat farm-to-table, support your local economy, and know your local growers and makers. How local is “local?” Our products are grown or produced in Virginia, within 75 miles of the City of Fredericksburg!

We also accept and match up to $30 on SNAP EBT at our three Market locations. Other Markets include Mary Washington Healthcare (Opening Day May 10) and Mayfield (Opening Day May 16). Please visit our website for more information on Market hours, days, and locations.

Does all of this food have you in the mood for a snack? No need to worry. We have kettle corn and lemonade vendors returning to the park again this year for on-the-spot refreshment. This historic market, which began in 1728, is within walking distance of downtown restaurants and other shopping opportunities. And did you know that Fredericksburg Farmers Market is dog-friendly? So whether you’re shopping for groceries, or making a day of it downtown, bring your kids, dogs and friends to visit the Fredericksburg Farmers Market. It’s time to celebrate spring with some fresh new produce. Hooray, hooray for opening day!
