Stafford County looking at ways to manage growth

by | Apr 22, 2019 | Government

Stafford County is asking the public to weigh in on its vision of healthy growth at the sessions on Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23. As the County continues to gather information and public feedback, there are no proposals or decisions under consideration at this time. The plan is to present the results of this engagement process to Supervisors on May 7th.

Discussion topics at these meetings include:

  1. What do you attribute as the cause to the greater than desired amount of development in rural areas?
  2. What types of initiatives do you think would incentivize and encourage the quality of life for citizens in Targeted Growth Areas consistent with a more urban form?
  3. What type of zoning and rural preservation initiatives could move the County toward the desired preservation of rural character in Stafford’s Comprehensive Plan for the future?
  4. What does land preservation mean to you and what does it look like in your opinion?

The public information sessions are open for participation by all members of the public. Results of the interviews and roundtable discussions will be presented during the educational portion of the session followed by a discussion period for participants to provide input on the process. I
