Stafford honors a fourth grade hero

by | May 7, 2019 | Police and Fire

Stafford Sheriff David P. Decatur and Stafford County Fire and Rescue Chief Joseph Cardello had the honor of recognizing Jackson for several heroic actions that showed quick-thinking beyond his years. Recently, Jackson witnessed his mother having a heart attack and immediately sprang into action. He ran to his neighbor’s house to call 911—an action that ultimately saved his mother’s life. A few days later, Jackson came to the aid of his younger brother who was having an allergic reaction by retrieving his epi-pen. To recognize his good deeds, the Sheriff presented Jackson with a certificate and a challenge coin. He and his family also received a behind-the-scenes tour of the Sheriff’s Office, including the Emergency Communications Center, so that Jackson could meet 911 dispatchers.
