The right southbound lane (outside lane) will be closed and traffic will be diverted to the left lane (inside lane). Northbound traffic will not be impacted by the lane closure. During this time there will also be occasional full closures of traffic on Lafayette Boulevard in both directions while various trees overhanging the road are removed.
The full closures will be limited in duration, about 5 minutes at a time, to allow tree crews to safely drop trees to the ground. Message boards will be posted on Lafayette Boulevard to remind motorists of the upcoming work activity and impacts to traffic.
Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work zone and should consider taking alternate routes in order to avoid anticipated delays while work is ongoing.
