On June 28th at approximately 2:00 a.m., a deputy responded to a reported missing person in the area of Chantilly Place. Upon arrival, she made contact with a female subject who said she awoke to find her 82-year-old husband with dementia was missing from their home.

She explained that she put her husband to bed around 9:30 p.m. and then went to her own bedroom. Around 1:50 a.m., she woke up and walked into the living room where she saw the front door was open. She then rushed to her husband’s bedroom and realized he was gone.

Shortly thereafter, the drone team and a K9 unit responded to the scene. Deputy Myers and K9 Gunner began tracking in the area using the scent from one of the shirts belonging to the missing person. It wasn’t long before they located him asleep in a vehicle parked in a driveway of a residence on Bridgewater Circle. He was found safe and uninjured, and was subsequently escorted home.
