Stafford man charged with murdering his grandfather

A 24-year old Stafford man is being held without bond in the Rappahannock Regional Jail for the murder of his grandfather.   The Stafford Sheriff’s Office says 24-year old Brandon Cohen called dispatch about 8:30 on Sunday morning from a residence on Clearview Lane in the Clearview Mobile Home Park.  Authorities say that Cohen told the dispatcher that he had shot and killed his grandfather.

Deputies responded to the residence and found the male victim unresponsive and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Rescue personnel attempted lifesaving measures; however, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.   The victim has been identified as  78 year old Thomas Ennis of Stafford.

24-year old Brandon Cohen was arrested and charged with first degree murder and one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.  Cohen was taken into custody without incident.  He’s being held in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond.  The Sheriff’s Office says no other suspects are currently being sought.
