A series of seminars on the products and services of the United States, Small Business Administration and the Lord Fairfax Small Business Development Center will be presented by Economic Development Specialist Marci Posey, Business Counselor Dale Maza, and Business Counselor David Reardon.


2019 Fort Germanna Archaeology Public Access Days

The Germanna Foundation, 2062 Germanna Hwy

While not open to the public daily, visitors get the chance to see the progress made while we work to uncover the fort that was commissioned by Lt. Governor Alexander Spotswood in 1714 and settled by German colonists who assisted Spotswood in beginning his mining operation. Please stop by the visitor center to pick up directions to the dig site and learn the story of why the two Germanna colonies settled on the Virginia frontier.


King Kong

Filmmaker Carl Denham (Robert Armstrong), recent discovery Ann Darrow and his team discover a giant prehistoric ape, dubbed Kong, while searching for locations on an uncharted jungle island. The crew manages to subdue the primate and bring Kong to New York to exploit him in a stage show from which he promptly escapes, spreading mayhem.

The short-lived fad of roller disco provides the backdrop for this comedy in which two rivals find themselves becoming good friends while competing for a prize of one thousand dollars in cash.


Culpeper Downtown Farmer’s Market

The Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market features nearly 30 vendors this season. Be certain to stop by the market to pick up locally grown produce while supporting regional farmers. There is no doubt that the Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market has become a destination on Saturday mornings, creating quite an attraction for the downtown district.

Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market, Parking Lot at the Corner of East Davis and North Commerce St This summer join Virginia Cooperative Extension’s Culpeper VA Family Nutrition Program (FNP) for a series of STEAM-based cooking activities. STEAM activities available at this year’s Culpeper Downtown Farmers Market are appropriate for ages 5-11. Little artists will use a variety of spreads and toppings to create a masterpiece on a pancake.


The Unsuitables at Mountain Run Winery

Salem Volunteer Fire Department 40th Pickin Party Reunion

Come out for great evening of fun, music and food. The Salem Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting a 40th Anniversary Pickin Party Reunion. They will have a 50/50 raffle and food will be available for sale. No outside food or beverages are permitted. All proceeds will benefit the Salem Volunteer Fire Department.

The Jewell Boxx is a small sized black box theatre located in downtown Culpeper that hosts a number of events, including music. Jim Lawrence, Lauren Smith and Holly Breivik will draw from their catalog of original tunes, both instrumental and vocal along with some traditional and contemporary standards for an evening of sometimes uplifting and sometimes somber – and always beautiful – evening of fine music. The cost for All Day Week long Camp is $425. A deposit of $125 will enroll your child for Camp with the remaining balance of $300 due the first day of camp.
