County and school thefts investigated in Spotsy

by | Aug 6, 2019 | Police and Fire

Three thefts are being investigated in Spotsylvania involving the schools and county government. One involves a payment of about 600-thousand dollars for the new turf field at Courtland High School. Local, state and federal authorities are investigating. The Free Lance Star reports that the turf field payment was made when a fake invoice was sent to the school system and the payment was wired. But the money didn’t go to the company that installed the field. No comment from the county or schools on the advice of law enforcement.
