The Fredericksburg School Board is holding a public hearing tonight on what qualities the new school superintendent should have.  The Board  will hold a Special Meeting – Public Hearing for citizen comments on qualifications for the new superintendent at 6:30 at the Walker-Grant Center located at 200 Gunnery Road.  There’s also a survey with 11 questions that you can take online thru midnight tonight at www.cityschools.com

David Melton retired as superintendent last month.  In a press release, School Board Chairwoman Jennifer Boyd said,  “We hope that all community members will take time to fill out the online survey or attend the public hearing.”  Board members will meet Thursday to decide on which qualifications they want the next superintendent to have and send that list to the Virginia School Boards Association by Sept. 20.

Marci Catlett was appointed interim superintendent.
