Volunteers needed for the complete count census committee in Fredericksburg

by | Aug 27, 2019 | Government

In April, City Council resolved to support the 2020 Census effort by launching a Complete Count Committee (CCC). A CCC is a group of citizens and stakeholders organized with the purpose of ensuring all people are counted in the Census. The task of the City’s CCC is to educate and motivate Fredericksburg residents to participate in the census by distributing educational information about the census and planning activities for outreach.

We are now seeking volunteers for the Complete Count Committee. The CCC will meet monthly at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, 408 Canal Street. Any and all residents and stakeholders who represent an important voice in our community and can help spread the word about participating in the 2020 Census are invited and encouraged to attend.

The first meeting of the CCC is set for Monday September 16 at the Dorothy Hart Community Center from 7:00pm-8:00pm. At this meeting, Census Partnership Specialist, George Millsaps, will be present to advise the group on beginning this effort.

To volunteer, please contact Susanna Finn, Community Development Planner at 540-372-1179. Or for more information please visit www.fredericksburgva.gov.
