Area first responders come out in a big way to help city boy celebrate his birthday

by | Sep 15, 2019 | Around Town

Brian lives in Fredericksburg and it was discovered over the weekend that nobody he invited to his birthday party came. So, Deuntay Diggs made some calls and Brian’s new friends showed up on a moments notice on Sunday evening: Pentagon Police, ATF, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office, Fredericksburg Police, the Rappahannock Regional Jail, Fredericksburg Fire Department…and many others along with some businesses.

All dropped what they were doing and immediately responded to help celebrate a birthday with a child with autism. First Sgt Shaun Jones with the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office heard about the party at 3pm. He recruited volunteers and was in the City for the party at 5. (Photos courtesy Jamie Ashton)
