The Be Well Rappahannock Council is hosting “Hidden in Plain Sight” in partnership with Mary Washington Healthcare and Rappahannock Area Community Services Board on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 7-9 p.m. It will be held at the John F. Fick, III Conference Center, 1301 Sam Perry Boulevard, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.

An initiative of the Be Well Rappahannock Council’s Prevention and Harm Reduction Workgroup, “Hidden in Plain Sight,” aims to bring awareness to parents and other adults on the signs of drug use and other risky behaviors in teens.

The presentation will take two hours. It includes an opportunity to “snoop” in a mock youth bedroom. In addition there will be a panel discussion and opportunities to ask questions of local law enforcement with representatives from Fredericksburg Police Department, Spotsylvania County Sherriff’s Office, and Aquia Harbour Police Department, substance use treatment, peer support, physicians and experts from juvenile justice.

The program is presented at no cost and Be Well Rappahannock Council is inviting any interested adults to attend. This event is not appropriate for children or adolescents.
