Veterans Day to be observed Monday in Fredericksburg

Veterans Day will be observed Monday downtown.   Veterans Day kicks off with a Walking Procession starting at 10:00am.  Visitors are invited to line the Washington Avenue Mall just before 10:00am to watch the procession of veterans pass by from Memorial Park up Washington Avenue to William Street and Barton Street. The procession will conclude on George Street at the site of the Fredericksburg Area War Memorial, where the traditional Veterans Day Ceremony will begin at 10:45am.

A new Veterans Resource Fair will open in Hurkamp Park at 12:00pm until 2:00pm, after the conclusion of the ceremony at the Fredericksburg Area War Memorial.  Organized by the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber of Commerce, this new resource fair offers businesses, non-profits and other organizations the opportunity to share their services, jobs and resources that are available or designed specifically for Veterans.

Parking is available in the 620 William Street Lot at Barton Street, the Fredericksburg Dog Park at Kenmore Avenue, First Christian Church at Washington Ave., the lot at 1016 Charles Street and Virginia Partners Bank at 410 William Street. Please see the attached map for parking locations.

Attendance at these events is completely free of charge and the public is invited. Events will be held rain or shine. T

Veterans Day will be observed in King George on Monday at 6:30 at King George High School.
