Late city mayor honored by VRE

by | Nov 10, 2019 | Traffic

Late Fredericksburg Mayor Bill Greenup joins 12 other current and former Virginia Railway Express Operations Board members that have had their name placed on the front of VRE locomotives.   It’s done to honor those who played a key role in establishing VRE service and whose efforts have contributed to the organization’s success.   In the early 90’s, it was Bill Greenup who pushed City Council to join the commuter rail service.  Greenup passed away in 2015.
