One dead in city shooting. Police looking for three suspects

From Fredericksburg Police:  Released Sunday morning

The Fredericksburg Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred last night inside an apartment building.

At 9:04 p.m., the Fredericksburg E-911 Center received a call for gunshots fired inside an apartment in the 1200 block of Kenmore Avenue. Patrol officers responded and located two victims with gunshot wounds. One of the victims had succumbed to his injuries. EMS transported the other victim to a nearby hospital where he received medical attention. He was released from the hospital earlier this morning.

Patrol officers set up a perimeter around the apartment complex and began their investigation while detectives were requested to respond to the incident. The suspects are believed to be three black males wearing masks.
The deceased victim is Jamil Washington, 34, of Fredericksburg.

The investigation is active and ongoing. More information will be released as it develops.
