From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

A suspect was arrested on Wednesday night by deputies with the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office for driving under the influence and eluding following a pursuit.

On March 4, 2020, at approximately 10:35 p.m., Deputy Ahern observed a vehicle crossing the double yellow lines in the area of the 3800 Block of Jefferson Davis Highway. The deputy turned around and activated his emergency equipment in an attempt to conduct a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle continued traveling at a high rate of speed.

After the vehicle failed to stop, a pursuit ensued. During the two and a half mile pursuit, the driver continued to speed and exhibit indicators of driving under the influence. Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop at a residence on the 200 Block of Olympic Drive. The driver was identified as Justin Davis, 37, of Stafford and he was taken into custody. Field sobriety tests were conducted and a breath test was administered.

The suspect was incarcerated at Rappahannock Regional Jail on a secured bond on charges of driving under the influence, eluding, and a traffic violation.
