From Stafford County:
Stafford County officials have decided to close all County buildings to the public, effective Wednesday, March 18, 2020. The move comes in the wake of new guidelines announced yesterday by President Donald Trump and the Centers for Disease Control to help control the spread of the Coronavirus. The guidelines call for avoiding gatherings of more than 10 people at a time as well as working and engaging in school from home whenever possible. The safety of the public and county employees is of paramount importance, and the closing will help quell the spread of the virus in Stafford County. Stafford County will continue to provide services to residents online, by phone and for some, by appointment.
“We understand that closing County buildings is unprecedented, but we feel this is the best way to keep everyone safe right now,” said County Administrator Tom Foley. “This is a very fluid situation. We appreciate the public’s patience as we adjust to providing services in less traditional ways.”
Stafford County outdoor parks are open with normal operating hours. More information may be found at www.staffordparks.com. The public is encouraged to take advantage of the many walking trails and other outdoor activities available at Stafford’s many wonderful parks. We also ask that you buy gift cards and order takeout meals from our great restaurants and local businesses, which need community support during this time of so many closings.

Water Services
Stafford Utilities is temporarily suspending all water and sewer cutoffs for any non-payment or late payment reasons until further notice. Customers, who are currently without water and (or) sewer service for any prior reason, may call (540) 658-8616 to be reconnected. All nonessential utility flushing or tie-ins that would affect water service have been delayed until further notice. Stafford Utilities will work with all customers on any billing questions.
