MWHC 5,000 mask challenge

by | Apr 3, 2020 | Health & Wellness

Mary Washington Healthcare is asking for your help to sew 5,000 masks with wire nose pieces so each of our Associates, both clinical and non-clinical, can have a mask to wear. As COVID-19 spreads, we are seeing many patients who have tested positive for COVID-19 who have inadvertently been spreading the virus during periods when they were asymptomatic.

Our medical staff caring for COVID-19 patients and those patients under investigation pending test results, will continue to wear N95 masks. The masks we need are for staff on all other units and for our non-clinical Associates who are unable to work from home.

You can find a pattern for the mask we are asking the community to make on our COVID-19 donations page. The standard mask pattern is the first one on the handmade items list. You’ll also find instructions on how and where to donate the masks. We appreciate your unfailing support! https://www.marywashingtonhealthcare.com/COVID-19/COVID-19-Donations.aspx
