Time now to apply for Cooking Autism grants

From Cooking Autism:

It is that time of year, again! Cooking Autism, Inc. is so proud to offer our third year of support to our local special education classrooms which cater to students with neurological challenges. We do this via our Cooking Autism Life-Skills Cooking Grant. Children with neurological challenges can often find it difficult to master life-skills; fine motor, communication, advocating needs and wants, asking and answering questions, sequencing, cleanliness and more. A team of licensed special educators saw these needs and designed a program to help. A few years after designing and implementing this program a duo of dedicated parents asked to join forces with this team so that they could offer a modeled program to other classrooms in the area. Cooking Autism, Inc. was born!

We are offering grants to special education classrooms who would like to partake in providing life-skills programs to special education students via cooking lessons. We feel that these important programs build self confidence and independence, and provide opportunities of growth to each student. All grant recipients will have access to a modeled program, supply funds, social media collaboration platforms, and the availability to ask questions from the design team.

We are so very thankful to be able to help. We are a 501(c)(3), non-profit, who raises funds and support year round so that we can build a stronger and more confident community. If you are interested in supporting Cooking Autism, Inc. as we support our community members, please reach out to [email protected]. We have opportunities to sponsor classrooms, become a monthly donor, one time donor, and provide assistance as you start a social media fundraiser. It truly takes a village to continue to support such a wonderful community, and we are so very proud of each and every villager! Thank you

During this unsettling pandemic, Cooking Autism, Inc. and a team of amazing local educators have been teaching small mini-lessons, The Daily Lunch Bunch, at noon (EST) on Facebook Live. These classes are educational, child friendly, and a great way to bring happiness and love into the home. If you are an educator and would like to volunteer for our Facebook Live or help us build videos for our YouTube page, please contact [email protected].

We are so very thankful to be a part of your community and to provide these great opportunities to you! Thank you for all that you are doing to build a healthy, strong, and loving community!
