VDOT and its contractors have scheduled overnight lane closures on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area this week.
Starting April 20, through early Friday, April 24, overnight work zones are set for final construction activities on the Exit 140 Diverging Diamond Interchange and to advance work on the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project in Stafford County.
Milling and paving on I-95 southbound in Caroline County will also continue this week. Weather permitting, crews will work on Sundays through Thursdays, 8 p.m. – 6 p.m. Double lane closures will end at 6 a.m. each day. Message boards are posted along I-95 to alert motorists to the lane closures and possible delays ahead.

8 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Single lane closure
9 p.m. – 6 a.m. – Double lane closure

Tuesday, April 21 – Wednesday, April 22
I-95 Northbound and Southbound at Exit 140 (Courthouse Road)
8 p.m. – 10 a.m. – Alternating, single lane closures and mobile operations for line-striping
I-95 Southbound from Exit 143 (Route 610/Garrisonville Road) to Exit 140 (Courthouse Road)
9 p.m. – 10 a.m. – Single lane closure
I-95 Southbound from Mile Marker 117 to I-95 Southbound Safety Rest Area
8 p.m. – 9 p.m. – Single lane closure
9 p.m. – 6 a.m. – Double lane closure
6 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. – Single lane closure
