Prince William County man wins $100,000 playing Powerball

Amit Broka had some very good luck in the June 3 Powerball drawing. The Bristow man matched four balls plus the Powerball number, which would normally win $50,000, but he spent an extra dollar for Power Play® when he bought his ticket – that doubled his prize to $100,000.

“I got lucky last night,” he said as he redeemed his winning ticket the next day.

He bought his ticket at Sheetz, located at 11627 Nokesville Road in Bristow.

He used Easy Pick and allowed the computer to randomly select his numbers. The winning numbers for that drawing were 1-3-26-41-64, and the Powerball number was 17.

Mr. Broka, who works in the hotel industry, said he’s been putting off buying a new car to replace his 2006 vehicle. He said this may be his opportunity for a new set of wheels.
