Better Business Bureau issues warning on Central Virginia online retail scam

BBB serving Central Virginia (BBB-CV) is issuing a consumer alert about an online retailer using a Manakin-Sabot, (Goochland County) residential location to sell swimwear and high-priced products at deep discounts. But there’s real problems.

The company,, came to BBB-CV’s attention two weeks ago, initially through BBB Scamtracker® and multiple requests for business reports. BBB-CV complaints state products were ordered and not received. One consumer said she ordered a Yeti Tundra Cooler for $99, didn’t receive it, and learned via USPS tracking that the cooler was somehow “left in her mailbox.”

One complainant said, “Once money was paid from my PayPal account, I received an email with a USPS tracking number and it was actually a number for a product already delivered to another consumer a month prior to my purchase.”

“We also have concerns about this online retailer using a local address that appears to belong to someone else,” said Barry Moore, President & CEO of BBB serving Central Virginia “If it sounds and is priced too good to be true, it’s probably not true,” added Moore.’s website was created April 7, 2020, and BBB-CV has already received over 50 inquiries regarding non receipt of products ordered.    “Always take the extra minute. Research the company. Type in their web address. Put in the buzz world ‘scam’ just to see what pops up,” Moore said.

Moore says there’s another red flag in this instance – the company’s address is listed in Goochland but the time zone is listed as Pacific Standard Time (PST).  “Be aware and do your research,” he said.

If you’ve experienced a problem with this company, BBB recommends reporting your complaint to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center at and also register your experience on BBB Scamtracker and file a complaint with
