Rappahannock Area Health District reports 48 new coronavirus cases

The Rappahannock Area Health District reports 15 people hospitalized with COVID-19. 48 new cases. Statewide, 3,708 new cases over the weekend.
 
50 COVID-19 deaths in the region. A Fredericksburg man in his 80’s is the latest. He’s the second to die at Hughes Home.
 
Allison Balmes-John with the Health District says says an additional outbreak was reported over the weekend, at a childcare center in which 2 staff members and one child have tested positive for COVID-19.
 
The Rappahannock Area Health District’s positivity rate is currently 4.5%. Health District officials have said that a rate under 10% means there’s adequate testing and the virus is under control in a region.
