VIDEO/PHOTOS: Young eagle rescued near Aquia Creek returned to the wild

by | Aug 6, 2020 | Outdoors

The eagles are believed to have fallen from their nest during a storm in May and were reported by a homeowner along Aquia Creek. Sgt. McCall, with the help of the homeowners, located and captured the eagles. The eagles were turned over to the Wildlife Center of Virginia for rehabilitation. On Thursday,  the president of the Wildlife Center brought the birds back to the capture location and released them to the wild.

Here is video of the eagle release this morning along Aquia Creek. This makes 19 eagles that Sgt McCall has rescued in his 13 years with the Stafford Sheriff’s Office Animal Control Division. Thank you Sgt McCall, the Wildlife Center of Virginia and the residents that reported the eagles back in May!
