Stabbing in Spotsylvania

From The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office:

On August 6, 2020 at approximately 0800am, the Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for a possible stabbing that had occurred at the Knights Inn, located at 4811 Market Street.  Upon deputies’ arrival, they found a 35-year-old male with multiple stab wounds about his body.  Deputies were quickly able to gather suspect information, as Deon Waverly Harris 24-year-old of Fredericksburg.  The Fredericksburg Police Department assisted our deputies with locating Mr. Harris in the area of Sag Harper Lane in Fredericksburg.

Witnesses stated that Mr. Harris arrived at the Knights Inn and knocked on a room there.  When the victim came to the door, he and Mr. Harris got into a verbal altercation which lead to Mr. Harris stabbing the victim multiple times.  Mr. Harris was gone prior to the arrival of deputies however was known to the victim and the other occupant of the hotel room.  The altercation allegedly started over a female in common.  The victim was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.

Deon Harris was charged and arrested for Aggravated Malicious Wounding.  He is being held without bail at the Rappahannock Regional Jail.
