The Stafford County Sheriff’s Office has located 37 year old Kelly Lewis, 37, of no fixed address, after a hit and run accident on August 20th.   A collision occurred between a Toyota Tacoma and a Toyota Rav4. The investigation revealed the Tacoma was travelling northbound on Jefferson Davis Highway when it crossed the center line and struck the other vehicle. The driver of the Rav4 was transported to the hospital with non-lifethreatening injuries.

The driver of the Tacoma had fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. A perimeter was established around the area and a K-9 search was conducted. The Sheriff’s Office says the driver was able to avoid capture that day.  Police identified  identified the driver of the Tacoma as Kelly Lewis.
Lewis was able to avoid arrest until Thursday morning when Stafford deputies located her in Foxwood Village.

Lewis is in the Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond. Her charges include felony hit and run, reckless driving, and a prior warrant from January of this year for failing to appear.
