Shooting in room at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center

UPDATE: Captain Scott tells us the deceased are 76-year old Pamela Turella and 80 year old Alexander Turella. An investigation revealed that that Pamela was a patient at Spotsy Regional. Her husband, Alexander, shot her and then himself. It occurred in Pamela’s room.

The Spotsylvania Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred about 9:15 on Friday morning on the 4th floor of Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center.  Captain Liz Scott with the Sheriff’s Office says medical personnel immediately called 9-1-1 after hearing gun shots.  She says the incident is isolated to a patient room where there are two victims.

The preliminary investigation reveals there is no danger to any patients, staff or citizens.   There are two deceased elderly people in the room.  Police think they are related.

The identity of the deceased are being withheld at this time until the next-to-kin can be notified.
