Staff for the Fredericksburg Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (FAMPO), the region’s transportation planning organization, are developing a new long-range transportation plan for the region, which includes the City of Fredericksburg, Stafford and Spotsylvania counties. The new transportation plan, currently known as the 2050 Long Range Transportation Plan, projects regional transportation needs for the next 30 years and lists transportation projects to meet those needs, including transit, roadway, bike and pedestrian projects.
It will take staff about a year to develop the new transportation plan. At this time, FAMPO planners need the public’s help with identifying long-term transportation goals and objectives. An online public survey has been developed to help the public provide feedback on staff’s proposed goals and allows the public to propose their own goals for staff to consider. The survey will be open through December 31, 2020.
