City statement on heavy traffic at reverse parade

by | Dec 7, 2020 | Events, Government

From The City of Fredericksburg:

The City of Fredericksburg would like to thank our community for enthusiastically participating in our reimagined Reverse Christmas Parade on Saturday night. With 40 regional floats participating, numerous volunteers put countless hours into making this event happen. With more than 3,000 cars making the loop, an estimated 12,000+ individuals were able to witness some much needed Christmas cheer.
While we found a way to accommodate approximately the number of people who traditionally attend the Fredericksburg Christmas Parade, we were not able to accommodate the much larger group that showed up this year. We know that everyone is anxious to experience annual events and traditions safety, and we are working diligently to plan for future COVID-safe formats, including virtual events, to operate safely and smoothly.
