Delegate Mark Cole announces he’s not seeking re-election

by | Feb 26, 2021 | Politics & Elections

Dear Friends,

It has been an honor to represent you and our shared values in the Virginia House of Delegates for the last two decades.  I write today, however, to announce that this will be my last term in office and to thank you for this tremendous privilege.

For more than 20 years I have been burning the candle at both ends and it has taken a toll on me, now is the time to hand the baton off to someone else.  I am grateful that you and so many others have partnered with me during this time and helped my campaign by distributing campaign fliers, stuffing envelopes, attending rallies, and going door to door.

During this time in office, I fought hard in support of legislation to give parents more choice in the education of their children, for low taxes, for gun owner rights and funding of our law enforcement professionals.  Thanks to you, I was able to fight for the Right to Life, traditional marriage and so many other issues critical to our families.

Some of our efforts were successful and some were not.  But now it is time for me to step aside for new leadership and to be able to spend more time with family and friends.

Lord willing, I’ll still be around for a good while and I will remain active advancing our shared principles.

And until then, may God bless you, the Commonwealth, and our great nation.

Sincerely,

Mark Cole
