VDOT says crews are installing new steel beams on the city side of the Chatham Bridge over the Rappahannock River. Three bridge beams are already in place on the Fredericksburg approach. Trucks only started delivering the massive steel beams to the city approach on Feb. 22
Beam installation on the Stafford side was completed earlier this year. Construction is on schedule to reopen the Rt. 3 Business bridge to traffic in October!
