Fredericksburg Parks, Recreation and Events Department and the Woman’s Club of Fredericksburg announce the winners of the  2021 Fredericksburg Fine Arts Show & Sale. In its 70th year, this long-running art show is renowned for its “open invitation” to artists for this unique 3-day event. Professional artists, novice artists and every type of artist in between were invited to display and sell their artwork in this once-a-year opportunity. This year’s show hosted more than 85 artists and more than 220 artworks.

Artists were judged in eight categories: Oil Paints, Watercolor Paints, Acrylic Paints, Drawing,   Photography, 3D Sculpture, Mixed Media and Novice while also competing for Best in Show, First Place and Popular Vote, among others.  The list of winners is attached to this email.

Open for three days only, the exhibit was on display March 12 – 14 at the Dorothy Hart Community Center in downtown Fredericksburg.   Admission was free, but organizers limited the number of people allowed into the exhibit at a time, all who entered were required to wear masks, and were reminded of social distancing guidelines.  Even following these protocols 550 people attended the exhibit over the weekend.   Attendees also voted on the Most Popular Award, which was awarded to Lizabeth Castellano-King for her watercolor painting, “River Rocks.”

Proceeds from this year’s art show and sale support the Woman’s Club of Fredericksburg Scholarship program, and the Parks, Recreation and Events community recreation programs, as well as supporting and promoting our vibrant art community of local artists in Fredericksburg.
