Stafford Sheriff’s Office concludes “Operation We’ll Turn the Lights On”

From the Stafford Sheriff’s Office:

“Operation We’ll Turn the Lights On”, an enforcement and interdiction operation targeting criminal activity surrounding the motels along Warrenton Road in south Stafford, has resulted in numerous arrests.   The area between the 300 and 600 block of Warrenton Road, which includes several motels, has
been identified as a high-crime area.   Wanted persons and individuals involved in drug trafficking and other criminal activity are known to frequent the area and its establishments.

To combat crime in this area, “Operation We’ll Turn the Lights On” was initiated. The operation utilized personnel and resources from the Criminal Investigations Division, Field Operations Division, Administrative Services Division and Special Operations Division. Uniformed deputies worked in conjunction with plain-clothed detectives in unmarked vehicles to conduct surveillance and investigate suspected criminal activity.

During the 5-day operation, deputies conducted 30 traffic stops and made numerous arrests resulting in a total of 28 criminal charges, 17 of which were drug related. In addition, deputies served 11 outstanding warrants for various charges including drug offenses, sex offenses, and
parole violations. Three firearms were recovered during the operation.
