From City Police:
On April 18, at approximately 12:39 am the Fredericksburg 911 center received a call about a fight in progress in the 500 block of Sophia Street. Fredericksburg Police officers arrived in the area and were able to detain several subjects involved in the fight.
A Fredericksburg Police Sergeant encountered a male subject in a nearby parking lot. The male subject was observed discharging a firearm and was given commands to drop the firearm. A single shot was fired by the Sergeant. There are no reported injuries to the male subject or Police. The male subject was taken into custody and charges are pending.
